Chapter Sixty One: The Glass Muse

The press has never been this too excited to dig into the controversy as the trial begins. Dubbed as "the trial of the century," publications try every possible means to obtain a scoop and get ahead from the pack with a headline that will shake readers to the core. The day was just starting but reporters are already converging at the Judicial and Bar Council.

One of them is Benjamin Porter, a young staffer at The Glass Muse, whose experience was nothing like this before, although he was known to be smart, and his opinion pieces are intellectually challenging. He just received this latest assignment, and he was not too keen about it, although his Editor gave him every possible sources at the Council, to be able to cover this trial in the most promising way possible.

He has wrote numerous articles before about the matter of Parochial Concerns, and how he advocates for greater control at the lower level. His view of the appointments are similar to those held by left-wing politics, that the Commission should not meddle too frequently at the level of the dominions and territories.

But he is starting his day with a little trouble, for he knew too well how the erring parties will respond to this latest challenge on appointed authority. He even just received notice from their sources that the Tenth Kingdom is planning several actions at the Commission to cut donations and military support, presumably aimed to pressure politicians as to the fate of this case.

The system is flawed, indeed, as everybody knows from their heart and intellect to be. Just like any other story he gave an opinion to, this latest assignment is no exception to the broad view of amending the Articles. However, this initiative does not gain some traction because politicians are either coerced or afraid.

Many believe that this Cause of Action will change the political landscape, although according to the grape vine, this conflict will extend further than what is permitted. It will revolutionize the mechanisms of political organs; there is no other way. And albeit nobody believes in gossip at this point, no one can deny that these kinds of rumors are music to the ears.

A political showdown has not been seen in ages, and a power flex is expected from both parties that every report from the Judicial and Bar Council will be followed by the people whose future will be affected sorely by this controversy.
