Chapter Fifty: The Queen Regnant of the South
/ Queen Regnant n. - a female monarch, equivalent in rank and title to a king, who reigns in her own right /
She was accompanied by her Grand Knight of the Cross who delivered the letter to her. The ambiance was tense, and the room is full of suspense. The Queen looked at the horizon with a certain form of disdain. She needed to show courage.
"Tell Herenius I am not afraid of him," the Queen finally declared.
Queen Alexandra II was known for her calm and diplomatic demeanor, but more than that she was praised for her exquisite beauty. Right now, it is not certain whether these characteristics will live up to the test of time. Today, the tides have turned, and the wind changes direction.
"As you wish, Your Majesty," the Grand Knight Ardor Jude of the Cross stated firmly. "The throne shall not be intimidated by a mere scroll."
"He's becoming more arrogant now and we shall not bow down to his wishes. They have played too much with power in the Commission on Appointments for this realm to tolerate any further," the Queen replied, affirming the loyalty of the Knight to the throne.
The room fell silent. Queen Alexandra II turned away from the window and faced her most trusted Knight. The horizon seems to be telling her a wicked sign that she didn't want to face.
"Send a scroll telling Herenius that we will defy his wishes. His audacity has far exceeded the limits. Tell him we are not afraid of the Astrologers nor his army. Tell him we will stand on our ground strongly and firmly for our dignified rights. We shall never abandon our pride for his stupid convictions about the law."
