Chapter Forty: The Story Board
It was not an interesting time for the Secretariat of the Board to be meddling with new permissions from the Protagonist-Confidant about certain stories which need certification from everything that has been narrated on the subject of a wonderful magic and its untimely application, let alone inquire about the Characterization Permissions Act's jurisdiction over the matter. The Story Board was still reeling from the shocking robbery of some of its prized treasures, mostly from the Classics Authority wing, and a mission to retrieve it is currently underway.
The Secretary was sitting behind his massive desk, deep in thought and with the same incident of theft in mind. She could not believe someone would dare to initiate such an appalling act where the Story Board had administrative and supervisory function over all matters falling under such responsibility. It has been centuries since the last burglary was reported from the Story Board, and based on that experience, history has not been pleasantly narrated about the atrocities that happened ever since.
But now, another treachery has transpired, and the Headmaster of the Classics Authority has reported the looting in Snow White's own story, contained in twelve scrolls, essentially robbing the main protagonists therein of their glory in the narration of the fairy tale. The decibels looted (the decibels being the currency of legal tender accepted by the Story Board) has started to surface, and the fraud has been continuing to transpire, as more financial information comes in from the field.
The Members of the Story Board have been informed of the unfortunate incident, of course, and none can believe what has just happened, neither. Everything came as a shock, and the Copy Editors (the elite investigators of the Board) have started their inspection of the magnitude of the scheme of this robbery.
As the Classics Authority faces its first litmus test since its foundation, a lot has been riding on how to catch this cunning culprit, and endeavor to regain the trust of the public once the case of Snow White has been solved and her status has been clearly restored.
There is no turning back now, for everything inside the scrolls has been corrupted at Snow White's expense. She is in danger of being obliterated from her own Story, and the Story Board must immediately find a way on how to stop the thieves from getting what they wanted.
