Chapter Twenty Six: The Hall of the Prophets

INT. INSIDE THE LIVING ROOM OF THE HALL OF THE PROPHETS - NIGHT

The cloaked person was threatening to kill a Seneschal of the Hall of the Prophets, holding a dagger which was pointed at the neck of the servant. The only illumination in the room comes from a small lamp near the window, and everything is eerily quiet.

CLOAKED PERSON

(Lightly pressing the pointed tip of the dagger)

Where is the chart that I am looking for? Speak.

The Seneschal didn't know what to say because he had searched far and wide but the chart in question was not found in the Library of the Hall of the Prophets.

SENESCHAL

The chart does not exist.

CLOAKED PERSON

(Shouting)

Liar! We all know that Princess Snow White is a prophet and her prophecy was needed for the restoration of the future of the Commission on Appointments. Now where is it?

The Seneschal is now starting to be confused because the chart that refers to the dreams of Princess Snow White is not deposited to the Hall of the Prophets. If it was indeed a valid prophecy, the chart will be located there.

SENESCHAL

(Trying to remain calm as the dagger slightly wounded his neck)

I will try my best to locate this chart that you are looking for. Please give me another chance. But what about suspicions? I cannot be caught stealing a chart!

CLOAKED PERSON

(Nodding in agreement)

I see. You have nothing to worry about. After you find the chart, nobody will know that you took it from the library to give it to me. Not even the Patron of Strength will have a clue.

The Seneschal was unconvinced of the reassurance, but he does not have any choice. The chart could have been smuggled out of the Hall of the Prophets, in which case he will be in grave danger. Nobody should know about this missing chart. He will just declare that it was burnt in a staged fire. He needs to plan his escape very well.

SENESCHAL

I will locate this chart of yours.
