Chapter Twenty Five: The Vampiric Curse
Elwood has been very hesitant to admit what he has done with the chart of Princess Snow White, but the Advocate of the Association of Chart Representatives was successful in extracting confession from him, given the gravity of the situation and what was at stake. They simply cannot trigger the chain of events that could lead to war, conflict, or self-destruction by reading a chart like that of Her Royal Highness'.
"What have you done? What has just happened?!" the Advocate was both disappointed and resentful as to what has just transpired, and his worry has reached an alarming rate that could provoke life-changing events, including chaos and unrest. "This could unleash the necessary evils of the Vampiric Curse!" he finally said.
"I am quite aware of the consequences of my actions, and I disagree with your position on this matter. Let us call upon the Principal to decide matters for us. The Astrologers have a greater responsibility than becoming afraid of politics, shielding our own from the far reaching territories of a power struggle that is now unfolding. We have a story to tell," Elwood said, quite firm with his conviction.
"Story to tell? How could you allow the Vampiric Curse to be released with such ease? We have warned the Secretary-General about this matter. We simply cannot unleash it!"
Elwood pursed his lip. "As far as I remember, the Secretary-General does not agree with you as well, Your Reverence."
"It will lead to destruction of all of us! You have a duty to defend the Seminary."
"You see, that is where you are wrong," Elwood retorted calmly. "Nothing is predestined, and you are not a fortune teller yourself. The Vampiric Curse has latched itself into the Prophecy, and the only way to fulfill it is to let the Curse be released. That is the only way to defeat the remaining threads of the Spindle."
"I do not subscribe to this reasoning. You endanger our kind by your reckless decisions! I will see to it that the Association be informed of this latest development. You cannot decide on this alone; you have no authority whatsoever."
