Chapter Eleven: The Commish Guards of the District of Peace
EXT. THE AERIAL VIEW OF THE DISTRICT OF PEACE IS SEEN WHILE THE CAMERA SLOWLY DESCEND TO THE FAÇADE OF THE COMMISH GUARD'S OFFICE - DAY
Three Commish Guards are now found conversing about the heightened security in the District of Peace in preparation for the Special Session of the Commission on Appointments later that day.
One of the Commish Guards, Hamilton, speaks.
HAMILTON
I have never seen this place so scared before, not before the Last War was fought. I have seen numerous wars in my lifetime, but if this is a prelude to an impending conflict, I will be truly scared.
The person to his left, whose name is Gregory, also a Commish Guard, responded.
GREGORY
It is quite alarming, indeed. The Executive Secretary has met the Centurions to discuss a very sensitive subject. Since when did politicians learn to use the phrase "sensitive subject?" I think the situation is worse than what the Commission will truly admit.
A convoy of carriages are suddenly passing-by on the road in front of them. They are carrying politicians to the Commission's House, in time for the Special Session. Another Commish Guard, named Redhunt, joined the conversation after the carriages are gone.
REDHUNT
Security has never been this tight, all right. Will the centuries be able to contain an attack if ever the situation got worse? Two of those involved in this dispute are permanent members of the Blue Ribbon Committee, and they can easily veto any Peaceful Resolution that might be possibly introduced. I can feel the fear of our people to see another war unfold. It simply cannot be done.
HAMILTON
It cannot be done, seems dubious! How else can pride manifest into which we as humans operate than the brute show of force?
Redhunt has nothing more to say to that. Meanwhile, we see someone spying on the three Commish Guards, listening to their conversation. He has heard enough, and very pleased with the outcome of the things transpiring at this very moment.
