Chapter 117: Within the Autocephalous Deeds

There are two creatures that are discussing things under the light of the full moon and within the spread of a clear, magnificent night sky. The first one is a talking monkey named Obelisk, and the other one, a talking dog of modern Dalmatian breed called Spots. Both of them are wondering about the nature of existence found within a certain segment in their formal lessons that relate to the mandatory study of the Counsel of Life.

These formal lessons are important for the effective use of their Canons as a form of a strong but gentle weapon, primarily utilized in defending the efficacy of the pixie dust and the moral lessons of the significant Tales that have been notarized in the solemn pages of the Blotter, ready to be told and retold.

It was Obelisk who started the conversation in a serious note, inquiring about suffering and in facing the harsh realities of death. He was unsure of the fitting justificaton made by the several pedagogical agents of the tales in supporting controversial moral lessons, and wonder within himself if any ordeal of such magnitude is worth the result of a strong realization of the lesson about life and love.

"I fully understand that the Counsel of Life requires in itself a fitting tribute, Spots. But is suffering really necessary to achieve the best result in the understanding of life?" Obelisk began his words with a little hesitation.

"What do you mean, Obelisk?" Spots asked back. "Are you still thinking about Tangerine?"

Obelisk was silent for a moment. Maybe it is true that he was still thinking about Tangerine after all these years. There is no denying that this is the case. He is honestly more worried about Tangerine than he actually hates the system of the Autocephalous Order.

"I guess I do."

Those were the only four words that he could gather right now. There is nothing to hide his sentiments anymore; Tangerine is the only reason why he wanted to continue his voluntary service to the Order.

"She will be very successful in her moral lessons, Obelisk. She will eventually find a way to notarize all of her Deeds," Spots reassured him. "Tangerine is a skillfil Canonizer, after all. She can look after herself."

"But her moral lessons are quite dangerous, Spots. You very well know how treacherous it is to walk around a world where hate and suffering are considered to be a well-desired and effective tool in instigating conflict within the murky and twisting plot of its surroundimg characters. What if she committed a mistake and fall into a trap?"

Spots actually understood where Obelisk's worry was coming from. All moral lessons are difficult in their own way, and the Order exploits the weaknesses of the creatures in order for them to address their weak attributes and turn them into desirable strength.

"It is because Tangerine is very talented," Spots said with confidence. "Whatever ordeal she may undergo, she will survive. She's a fighter, and she will always be. Even the many manifestations of the evil Rhetoric will never fool her. One day, her Deeds of Rhetoric will be notarized, just like what you did gloriously a few years back."

Obelisk smiled. It is much of the truth than compliment..

"I believe you, Spots. I believe in predestination as much as you do."

Spots returned a wide grin.

"Tangerine will find her way back home safe and sound. Never worry. You shouldn't doubt that."
