Chapter Thirty One: Emergency Meeting on Lake Esenham

The members of the powerful Blue Ribbon Committee have been summoned by its President to discuss military options in the situation at Lake Esenham, where fighting erupted between the rebel forces and the government. The rebellion seeks to sever Lake Esenham's ties with the Commission on Appointments, and declare its independence.

The fighting reportedly started with the ambush of the Commish Guards near the Valley of Dreams, the capital of the small state in question, as rebels were heard shouting, "Freedom from hypocrites! Freedom from hypocrites!" amid the clashing of weapons and the firing of canons.

The Commission on Appointments has been alerted on the issue, and the Executive Secretary was quick to respond by sending reinforcements into the territory to quell the rebellion, and maintain peace and order.

But the rebels are gaining ground. The District of Peace knows that it needs support from the Blue Ribbon Committee in order to defeat this latest attempt to destroy the Appointed Union of the Commission.

It is time to move.

The Secretary of Parochial Concerns has submitted his manifestation on the situation, and has declared that the matter is a national issue that must be addressed immediately, and with forceful conviction.

As the Blue Ribbon Committee votes on a peacekeeping resolution in the Main Hall, little do everybody know that the District of Peace will be besieged by unknown agents, an event that will be remembered in history as a day of reckoning.

The ploy is secret and cunning, and it is proceeding as planned, and without any issues.
