Chapter Three: The Union of Five Boroughs
The Duke of Esenburg joined the meeting with the High Commissioner later after His Majesty's Union decided to step up security as soon as the threat was immediately determined, hastily issuing a Union Order to that effect. More actions are expected to be drafted in the coming days, since the blatant use of withcraft to the Ancestral House have been established on many accounts.
The Union of the Five Boroughs has ever since served as the basis for the democratically elected government of the Tenth Kingdom, dividing the political lines for representation under the command of His Majesty the King.
The Ancestral House happens to be located in the Borough of Esenburg, a place where magical forests abound and whose natural resources are a source of pride. As one of the Five Boroughs, it has received a royal charter and has a titular head, called the Duke.
Now, this place is in grave danger. Not only that its beauty is threatened, it is more susceptible to unsuspecting attacks. The Duke of Esenburg has agreed for more Henchmen presence in the region, only because there is no other choice. Whoever is trying to destabilize the Kingdom must be brought to justice.
Yet, who can really stop withcraft from happening? It is only the Astrologers who knows the way. The leaders are all in agreement to seek their counsel in this matter, but an ambush is waiting to happen. Everybody knows the gravity of the situation.
The other four Boroughs must be called its attention for, since politicians cannot be truly trusted on matters of personal security, and Esenburg is fearing that His Majesty's Union will fail to contain these attacks. They are too busy keeping their seats, and cannot be brought to care at all. It is this fear that he discusses his options with the High Commissioner.
"We must further discuss these things, Your Grace," the High Commissioner said. "This is a grave accusation we simply cannot accept on face value."
