Chapter Five: The Astrological Seminary

INT. INSIDE THE NORTH WING OF THE ASTROLOGICAL SEMINARY - DAY

Two persons enter the room to meet Dayton Shielding, aged 73, the Principal of The Astrological Seminary. They were sent by His Majesty's Union to send a very special request.

DAYTON SHIELDING

Good morning. To what pleasure do I owe this visit?

One of the persons who entered the room is named Nicolas Dread, one of the best Henchman of the Tenth Kingdom. The other, by the name of Ferdinand Glucose, was standing behind him. He is seen holding a scroll.

NICOLAS DREAD

It is always a pleasure to meet you, Dayton. As you well know, the Tenth Kingdom is very happy to host the hallowed edifices of this great Seminary. But regarding our visit, the High Commissioner wishes to seek your assistance on a very important matter. We are pretty sure you have heard about the attempted attack at the Ancestral House.

DAYTON SHIELDING

(Nodding)

Yes, of course. It was very unfortunate for such incident to unfold. To what assistance will we be of help?

Ferdinand Glucose stepped forward to give the scroll to Dayton Shielding. He offered his hand to receive it.

FERDINAND GLUCOSE

His Majesty's Union would like you to initiate an inquiry into the nature of this attack, and ascertain whether witchcraft was involved in any way. Whoever is behind these brazen attempts to destabilize the Kingdom must be stopped at any cost.

Dayton Shielding opens the Scroll to read. The text of the Scroll will be seen on the screen.

(Closes the Scroll)

I see that you have serious allegations, sir. We simply cannot open an investigation without the authority of the Commission on Appointments.

NICOLAS DREAD

(Raising his voice)

The Commission on Appointments, you say? This is a sad thing to consider with all the help we are extending to the Seminary. This is such ungratefulness. We are not asking for a formal inquiry, Your Holiness. This is just a simple request. A little favor to ask for.

Dayton Shielding looks very uneasy, trying to decide on what to do next. He seems weighing all his options in his head, while his response is pending. The moment of silence was excruciating.

DAYTON SHIELDING

(Finally breaking the silence)

But what about the South Kingdom? What will they say when they find out?
