Chapter Ninety Five: The Queen's Lord Privy Seal

The Queen Regnant of the South was waiting for her official visitor in the throne room, before royal audiences are about to begin. Her Majesty has a lot of questions regarding the news and opinion published by the Glass Muse, and how accurate is the extent of the leaked information to the press.

The Baron of Sages, the Queen's most trusted Lord Privy Seal, has immediately entered the throne room, and quickly approached the Queen to take his bow, ready to be questioned.

"My dear Lord, Baron of Sages, what are the chances that our meetings have been infiltrated by the enemy that could have enabled the process for our discussions to have reached the nose of the press even before the minutes of the meetings have been printed?"

There was an irritated tone in the Queen's voice, and the Lord Privy Seal understands the severity of the matter.

"The press has been deceived, Your Majesty."

"Deceived?" the Queen interjected. "What are you saying? Have you read the newspaper lately? It is almost a detailed report as accurate as someone's own account who actually attended the Privy Council meeting."

"The government will refute the news, and we consider this as an opportunity to change our plans as an early sign of how to adjust our sails to the direction of the wind, Your Majesty."

"I dare not run into problems with the press. Tell me, my Lord, who is the traitor of these leaked particulars?"

The Baron met the Queen's gaze, and said with contempt, "He was murdered two days ago."

"What?" the Queen was astounded. "The Seneschal? I thought that his loyalty to our causes was tested a long time ago."

"He will just be a part of the greater conspiracy that we are brewing against the Tenth Kingdom. This is not a major flaw in our plans, Your Majesty. The Privy Councillors are confident enough that we can turn this around to prevent any suspicions, and we are asking for the patience of Your Majesty."

"So, who will tell us the information that we need now that the Seneschal is gone?"

The Baron acknowledged the Queen's concern with a bow. "We have planned this murder a few months ago, and we have found a more suitable replacement."

"A replacenent, you dare say?" the Queen asked with conviction. "Who is your newly recruited spy, my Lord? Tell me in this instant!"

"You won't believe it yourself, Your Majesty," the Lord Privy Seal said with a wide grin. "This is going to be a very exciting news."

"Who?" the Queen said impatiently.

"No other than the Rector of the Commission, Your Majesty."
