Chapter Fifty Three: The Earl of Seymengarde

/ Seymengarde n. (pronounced ey-men-ard) a Borough in the Tenth Kingdom named in honor of King Blair Seymengarde I /

The Union of Five Boroughs, meeting today from an emergency order of the High Commissioner, has not taken the news lightly from the ruckus that erupted within the parochial borders, as the Temporary Restraining Order was served earlier which will halt the collection of customs duties to passing cargoes. Although it was respectfully refused pending this meeting of the Union, it is only a matter a time that it will be implemented sooner or later.

As the current Chairman of the Union, the Earl of Seymengarde has taken a tough stand by voicing his concerns in the strongest words possible, and the rhetoric of which is very undiplomatic. The Earl was furious since the Cause of Action has been passed by the Commission, and now that the injuction has been prayed and granted, his temper seems to not cooperate within reason and diplomacy.

"They cannot do this to us," the Earl has said with a tone of anger. "We have invested heavily into the stability of the Commission and the Appointments, giving them enough support and assistance as much as our hands can reach. I can tolerate legal battles, make no mistake, but never disrespect. This document is a slap straight to our face. It is an arrow deliberately pierced in our hearts."

The Earl waved the documents in front of the four other Boroughs, as if they haven't been aware of the gravity of the situation.

"Since they have tried to breach our cordial relationship with the Commission with these proceedings, we shall write the Judicial and Bar Council with strongly worded letter to condemn under the pain of His Majesty's Crown, the unfortunate resolution of this matter, and making it clear that the High Commissioner shall discontinue to provide any assistance to the Commission and elsewhere within the Appointments. The Union will not take this attempt to embarass us silently. We have to speak."

The Duke of Esenburg nodded vigorously in agreement. He seems to understand this strategic move to help pressure the Commission to take the Tenth Kingdom into the radar of their unwavering support.

"I couldn't agree more to this statement," the Duke has said.
