Chapter Fifty Four: A Sudden Death

INT. INSIDE THE COMMISSION'S HOUSE, DITSTRICT OF PEACE - DAY

The High Commissioner of the Tenth Kingdom and the Earl of Seymengarde have just entered the main doors on the way to the office of the Most Loyal Executive Secretary's Office. The agenda of their visit has been defined by His Majesty's Union: to file a counter claim against the South Kingdom. They will also propose to cut their contributions to the operations of the District of Peace as a result of the present case before the Judicial and Bar Council.

HIGH COMMISSIONER
(After passing-by the doors to the Peace Chamber, where the Commission sits en banc)
Nothing has really changed. This place should adjust with the times.

The two continued their walk from there, towards the grand staircases where the Executive Wing is located. They have nothing much to talk about since passing the beautiful Peace Chamber just awhile ago. It is somewhat due to a serious matter or the purpose of the walk is a bitter tragedy that requires retribution. They were met by a Commish Guard on the way to a place that leads to a hallway.

COMMISH GUARD
(Bowing down to the politicians, and acknowledging them with their respective style)
What is the purpose of the visit, Your Right Honorable, Your Grace?

The two companions were very pleased with the politeness and immediately stated the reason for this unfortunate visit.

EARL OF SEYMENGARDE
(Pointing to his thick suitcase)
We are here on an important meeting with the Executive Secretary. He is expecting us.

The Commish Guatd quickly run a check on the suitcase and the guest list, and then allowed them to proceed without any more delay or incident.

The Hallway is adorned with many pieces of precious art, for this one solely leads to the Executive Secretary's Office. It is sometimes referred to as the Loyalty Corridor because the decorated hall leads to the highest office. The walls are adorbed by the finest paintings found nowhere else, mostly with a portrait or abstract art. Along the way, mini tables also exist to serve as a high stand for the beatiful ceramics and sculptures that tell the story of the District and the Commission's early days in the most sophisticated way.

Notwithstanding, they were walking with a heavy heart, knowing that this meeting will not end well. It is indeed extremely painful to make a stand in a time like this, having to assume the role of a villain. But they have to do it; there is nothing else left to consider. They must bring this up into the open as soon as possible.

Just as they are about to knock on the door upon reaching it at the end of the Hallway, a scream was heard.

FEMALE VOICE FROM THE
EXECUTIVE SECRETARY'S ROOM
(Screaming very loudly)
The Executove Secretary is dead! He is dead! Somebody killed him with an arrow! Call the Governor-General!
