EXT. AT THE BORDER WALL OF THE REPUBLIC OF GAWKINS - DAY

A cloaked person is seen speaking to a Commish Guard who was patrolling the northern frontier of the Commission. They tried to keep the conversation as private as possible.

CLOAKED PERSON

I must say that you are very committed to your duty even though the Commission on Appointments never really bothered to know the situation on the ground. Where is this loyalty coming from?

COMMISH GUARD

(Feeling shocked at the question)

Loyalty comes to those who find it. We may not have the same opinion about loyalty, but it is the only way to make the system work. Your cloak signifies your esteemed place as Officer of the Order of the Tenth Knight. You would know too.

The Spindle's Last Thread suddenly glowed around his neck; the Commish Guard did not notice anything.

CLOAKED PERSON

(Smiling first before responding)

It is certainly very peculiar to be talking about loyalty, and then doing the exact opposite of the strong rhetoric that made the Commission as powerful as it is today.

COMMISH GUARD

(Agreeing with the thought)

But such question requires further inquiry. To what extent do we owe our loyalty from, other than what was given to us in return? Surely, this is the same path that our ancestors faced in their lifetime. It kept the Commission in its rightful place. Loyalty played a major role in everything history provided for us.

CLOAKED PERSON

(Struggling to speak while the Spindle's last thread glowed again)

I have no further say on this matter. But don't you just wish the arrogant so mighty and strong should be toppled down to the ground, once this peacekeeping mission is over and done with?

COMMISH GUARD

(Shocked)

Arrogance? I seem to misunderstand you. Who would that be in this times other than the enemies we fight from within?

The Commish Guard did not understand what the Cloaked Person was saying. It was about the plan of the Dark Forces to destroy the Tenth Kingdom.
