Chapter Twelve: The Astrologer's Chart
"How can it be? Can the stars lie? Does the Principal know?" It was the Secretary-General who was asking the questions.
The Astrologer looks at the chart again, released a little sigh, and breathed hard. He has been reading the constellations and planetary movements for quite some time now to be mistaken easily or be fooled by the circumstances. He has seen this sign before, and it was an omen of death as far as he can remember.
"The stars are never wrong," he just answered blankly.
"And the recent incident with Princess Snow White? Is it connected to this?"
The Astrologer nodded, "Indeed."
"Then we must warn them. We can't just let it happen. We have a solemn responsibility," the Secretary-General was very certain of this. "We must tell the Principal at once!"
"We cannot," the Astrologer answered. "This Seminary cannot involve itself in politics. You know the Accords, for you have read them yourself, as well. For now, we must wait and see. We are astrologers, after all. Not fortune tellers."
"Politics?" the Secretary-General was horrified with the thought. "This is a matter of life. Surely, there is an exception!"
"I wish there is, Your Reverence. But as far as we are concerned, this Seminary is only a pawn in the bigger pursuit of power by others. We are the slaves of our own existence."
