Chapter 135: The Heir to the Throne

"And how long can we still cover up regarding Sleeping Beauty's circumstances? We cannot risk breaking the Seal of the Prophet Brothers Grimm. Not at this time. No."

She was speaking in a hushed voice. They were most certainly alone inside the Banquet Hall of the Great Palace where nobody can hear the conversation. Not even the guards right outside the massive doors.

"We will continue to oppose this massive campaign of the Expanded Classical Mixtures propaganda at all costs, and we will consistently insist on the Isolationist ideology that we are keeping as sponsorship. If nobody is to be bothered looking into our internal affairs, then we will keep all of this castle's secrets for good."

It was a handsome prince she was talking to. There is complete resolve in his voice; it was firm and ready to defend the general position of the realm in response to every questionable circumstances present. There is a very critical issue that the Kingdom is currently facing, and this conspiracy theory has reached the culminating moment of the brewing evil scheme.

"The Privy Council may want to revoke my self-imposed right to Regency. I am running out of reasons why the King is delaying his return. Not all parliamentarians are my friend, you know that, right?"

The prince was nodding his head, deep in thought. Obviously, a valid dilemma is about to present itself.

"We do not need to contradict the decree of the Expansion of the Classical Mixtures directly and openly. For now, we can utilize our most loyal guards to shroud the truth of the matter about your father. You can delay giving Assent to this abominable Act. We can think of a domestic issue that will support this unfortunate delay in the signing of this law. One that will be very vital in our internal affairs."

The Princess wasn't sure of the proposed solutions that she was being presented with. It seems very unnatural and not clever enough to be able to escape the scathing speeches of the most capable parliamentarians once the bill was refused Assent. But there is no other real choice at this stage.

"We do not want to start a revolution, you do suppose? The parliamentarians would want their questions answered as we are the remaining realm to ratify this Decree that my father has cordially signed. The Crown was a stout supporter of this initiative. I cannot simply revoke the King's wishes through a weak Regency."

The Prince smiled. He has prepared an appropriate answer to this concern about his well-thought scheme.

"Tell them that the King's life is in danger, and the plot to kill him was part of the motivation for the ratification of this Act. The Regency obviously cannot simply give Assent that will endanger the life of the present monarch. The Outcasts are plotting evil things to kill the King because of his open support to this initiative."

The Princess was partly convinced. She was able to give a forced reply.

"And how about the Privy Council? They are now worried of my sister's sleeping beauty curse, who is the rightful heir to the throne?"

"Tell them the excuse I have mentioned, and I will take it from there."
