Chapter Nineteen: The Fundamental Words

The fundamental words have been the pillar and strength of the Astrological Seminary, having discovered the secret power of the elements of earth, fire, wind, water, and space. For every element, a fundamental word has been assigned to conjure its power in every constellation that has been summoned by an astrologer.

The origins of the fundamental words are secretive in nature, and its varied history was uncertain, and unclear, even tantamounting into mythology and folklore. Every Kingdom or Republic within the Commission on Appointments had their own version of the story, and the efforts to fully restore its historicity will eventually just result in confusion and chaos.

But the Astrological Seminary must keep a certain record of the existence of this certain power, whether it's a myth or folklore that might dominate the actual effort notwithstanding the way it was portrayed or gathered, and this collective resolve is somewhat embodied in a quite complex dictionary that has been kept for years, and years of experience.

This dictionary is entrusted under the care and safekeeping of the Lexicographer, whose meditation and scrutiny influences the way new discoveries are made, and determines the merits of the words added to the dictionary, where almost all effective conjuring originates and consummated.

The Dictionary contains the most fundamental of words, from which elements are summoned by the constellations of stars. These words are enshrined in the book with so much emphasis and care, and its mastery is an essential skill all Astrologers needed to master.

"Firo," is the fundamental word for summoning fire into the battlefield. The most useful of the fundamental words, firo aims to use the element of fire to attack the enemy lines like an arrow coming from the back of the several armies, knights, or centuries.

"Terra," meanwhile, is a fundamental word to command the movement of the earth by conjuring the constellations to enter the soil and produce quakes, or simply to erode the battlefield.

"Ventus," is the fundamental word that produces a tornado of constellations aimed at destroying projectiles, preventing advancing armies, and misdirect firing of canons and sabotage the efficacy of shields.

"Hydro," on the other hand, transforms the stars and the pattern of the constellation to produce a web of crystal clear water, commanding it to form different shapes and sizes to be used as shields, and directing it to destroy enemy frontlines, including putting out fire and burning cannonballs.

Lastly, "locus," is the uttered fundamental word, the most vicious of them all, the most evil and unforgivable, that commands the stars to transform like silver bullets that are most useful in destroying and killing mythological creatures, including murdering astrologers alike.
